On October 1, 2021 at 3:42 PM Sugarcreek Borough Police responded to a three vehicle motor vehicle accident in the 700 block of Allegheny Blvd.
Two vehicles were stopped on Allegheny Blvd at a traffic light when the traffic light turned green. As the vehicles began to proceed, the driver of unit one was travelling south on Allegheny Blvd and for an unknown reason failed to slow down and struck unit two.
Unit one continued to push unit two forward until it struck unit three causing unit two to be smashed between the two vehicles resulting in extensive damage. Unit three moved forward on the roadway and pulled to the side. Unit one continued forward off the roadway and partially traversed a ditch.
The driver of unit one was take via ambulance to the hospital for evaluation.
Unit one has been cited for Driving Vehicle at Safe Speed and Restraint Systems (seat belt).
