On September 22, 2023 the Sugarcreek Borough Police Department was dispatched for the report of a domestic in progress on Allenbaugh Rd. Upon arrival officers spoke with the victim. The victim relayed that Steven Shoffstall, 23 of Franklin, had grabbed and shoved her over the bed and then began screaming at her as she lay on the floor.
Officers upon arrival saw Steven run from the house, alongside the house, and eventually evade into the wooded area behind the house. Officers followed giving verbal commands to return but Steven Shoffstall refused all commands.
Steven Shoffstall eventually was taken into custody.
Steven Shoffstall was arraigned before Judge Fish on the following charges:
Simple Assault – Misdemeanor 2
Flight to Avoid Apprehension – Misdemeanor 2
Harassment – Summary
Unable to post $10,000 bail, Steven Shoffstall was placed into the Venango County Jail.
