Motorists are reminded to be aware of lane restrictions along Route 8, Route 417, and Deep Hollow Road (Route 3025) in Venango County next week as crews apply high friction surface treatments.
Work is scheduled to begin Monday, September 25, 2023, and will take place on the following stretches of roadway:
· Route 8 – From Kaneville Road to Horn Road in Cherrytree Borough, 0.36 miles;
· Route 417 – From Shingledecker Drive to Front Street in Sugarcreek Borough, 0.33 miles; and
· Deep Hollow Road (Route 3025) – From Bredinsburg Road (Route 2006) to First Street in Cranberry Township, 0.62 miles.
The project began in August with patching and base repair work on Deep Hollow Road and will continue with the application of high friction surface treatment to help provide pavement friction to vehicles in critical braking or cornering maneuvers.
Traffic will be controlled by flaggers and motorists should anticipate delays during active work hours.
Work is scheduled to be completed by Wednesday, October 4, 2023, weather permitting.
PennDOT urges motorists to slow down when driving in work zones, and also to be alert to changing conditions, avoid distractions and to pay attention to signs and flaggers. Drive responsibly in work zones for your safety and the safety of the workers.
