D.U.I. Motor Vehicle Accident, Endangering Welfare of Children

On August 4, 2023 the Sugarcreek Borough Police were dispatched for the report of a single vehicle accident into a tree in the 1200 block of Rocky Grove Ave.

Upon arrival officers were able to make contact with the driver, Emily Drelick, 43 of Oil City. It was determined that there was also a 6 year-old juvenile in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

While speaking with her, officers noted multiple outward signs of impairment and had Emily Drelick perform field sobriety testing. Emily Drelick was placed under arrest for the suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance. Several drug types and drug paraphernalia were recovered at the scene.

The blood results returned and showed the Emily Drelick had operated and ultimately crashed a motor vehicle with methamphetamine, amphetamine, and marijuana in her blood.

Emily Drelick was charged with the following:
Driving While Under the Influence (Schedule 1 4th Offense) – Felony 2
Driving While Under the Influence (Schedule 2 4th Offense) – Felony 2
Driving While Under the Influence of a Combination of Drugs – Felony 2
Endangering the Welfare of Children – Felony 2
Possession of a Controlled Substance by a Person Not Licensed – Misdemeanor
Possession of a Controlled Substance – Misdemeanor
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Misdemeanor
Other Summary Traffic Offenses

A felony warrant was requested and issued for Emily Drelick. Emily Drelick was taken into custody and arraigned before Magistrate Fish on September 21, 2023.

Emily Drelick was lodged into the Venango County Jail unable to post the $1,500 bail and the detainer she had from Probation and Parole.

Emily Drelick’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 27, 2023 at 8:30 AM at the Venango County Courthouse.
