Assault & Disorderly Conduct

On July 5, 2023 at approximately 2:00 PM the Sugarcreek Borough Police Department was dispatched to the 400 block of Gilfillan Street for an active domestic between a known juvenile and Alyssa Slater, 26 of Franklin.

Sugarcreek Borough Police arrived on scene and upon further investigation is was discovered that Alyssa Slater and the juvenile got into a verbal argument that became physical. During the physical altercation both the juvenile and Alyssa Slater began grabbing, striking, kicking and hitting each other. The juvenile along with Alyssa Slater both had red marks around their wrist area and both admitted to being physical with one another.

During the physical altercation the grandma of the juvenile was present and tried to intervene to stop the fighting when the juvenile grabbed grandma by the neck area leaving red marks.

While Sugarcreek Borough police was investigating the incident Alyssa Slater was advised by officers to keep her voice down and to stop talking so loudly while on the front porch of the residence. Alyssa Slater became angrier and was advised that if she continued she would be charged with disorderly conduct.

Alyssa Slater then entered into the residence then exited. During the exiting of the residence she slammed the door shut and continued to be loud. Alyssa Slater was then placed under arrest on the following charges:

Simple Assault – Misdemeanor 3
Disorderly Conduct – Misdemeanor 3

Alyssa Slater was transported to the Sugarcreek Borough Police Department where she was arraigned in front of Magistrate Kirtland and released on a $1,500 unsecure bail.

Alyssa Slater is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on July 19, 2023 at 8:30 AM.
