Forgery, Bad Checks, Theft by Unlawful Taking

The Sugarcreek Borough Police were advised of several incidents involving Montice Robinson, 39 of Franklin.

The first occurrence involved a known female victim that Robinson had been helping at her house. While providing assistance to the known victim, Robinson has used the victims credit card and personal information to transfer over $1,100 to her account without the victim’s permission or knowledge.

For this investigation Montice Robinson was charged with:
Access Device Fraud – Felony 3 (18 counts)
Theft by Unlawful Take – Misd (9 counts)
Theft by Deception – Misd (9 counts)

Magistrate Lowrey arraigned Robinson on January 10, 2022 and bail was set at $10,000 unsecure.

The second occurrence that Robinson was investigated for was forgery. Robinson had received checks from her apartment complex. Robinson then later manipulated the checks and cashed them a second time at separate locations receiving the funds a second time.

For this investigation Robinson was charged with:
Forgery – Felony 2
Theft by Unlawful Taking – Misd 1
Bad Checks – Misd 2

The preliminary hearing is set for February 2, 2022 at 8:30 AM for all cases.
