Sugarcreek Police were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident that occurred in the 300 block of Sugarcreek Drive on February 4, 2020 at 3:45PM.
Initial investigation shows that a Ford pickup was traveling south on Sugarcreek Drive when for unknown reasons the vehicle crossed the oncoming lane of travel, traveled off the roadway and struck a telephone pole causing substantial damage.
No injuries were reported at the crash, however a juvenile was transported later by private vehicle for evaluation at UPMC.
The operator of the vehicle was taken into custody at the scene for suspected driving under the influence.
Sugarcreek Drive was closed for a while as Penelec made repairs to the damaged pole.
The investigation is ongoing.
