Weapons of Mass Destruction BOLO

On December 10, 2019, Sugarcreek Borough Police recovered two explosive devices during the execution of a search warrant for controlled substances. The explosives were recovered by the Pennsylavania State Police Bomb Unit and moved to a safe location at which time while trying to render the larger device safe it exploded causing a large shock wave as well as a loud explosion. 

Sugarcreek Borough Police initiated an investigation into these devices and while conducting the investigation were able to identify the person who possessed and manufactured the devices. Also found with the larger device was a bag containing several razor blades, nails, and other pieces of metal whose sole purpose would have been to be used as shrapnel with the explosive device.

Carl Michael Roberts

After having a review of the case with District Attorney, Shawn White, officer prepared and filed a criminal complaint and an arrest warrant was obtained for the defendant Carl Michael Roberts.

 

Roberts is a black male, approximately 6’2″ in height, slender build with some facial hair, aged mid 20’s.

Law enforcement from Sugarcreek, Franklin, Oil City, State Police and State Probation and Parole attempted to serve the arrest warrant at various locations in Venango County without success.

The Sugarcreek Borough Police Department is requesting the assistance from the public in locating this dangerous person and placing him under arrest.
