On Tuesday March 14, 2023 at 2:17 PM, the Sugarcreek Borough Police Department was dispatched to the Sheetz located at 590 Allegheny Blvd. for the report of a motor vehicle that had struck a pole.
Upon arrival officers noted that the vehicle was empty and that a driver was not present. Witnesses identified the male as the driver when he exited the Sheetz store.
The male driver was checked by medical personnel at the scene where he was released and refused any further care.
Upon speaking with the driver, Joshua Morrison, 32 of Oil City, it was determined that he had driven the motor vehicle and crashed. Officers learned that he had been operating the vehicle without a valid license.
During the course of the investigation it was learned that he had struck a vehicle on Front Street causing damage to the vehicle, with a witness stating that the car was driving at a high rate of speed prior to striking the other car.
Joshua Morrison then fled the scene of the first crash without providing any information to the victim. Mr. Morrison then continued east on Front Street at a high rate of speed, entered the Sheetz parking lot where he eventually struck a light pole.
