On March 2, 2023 an unknown actor was seen entering the Country Fair in Rocky Grove. The unknown actor was seen taking multiple items from around the store and placing them in the book bag that they were wearing.
Store employees noticed the theft after the unknown actor had left the store without paying for the items.
Country Fair employees notified the Sugarcreek Borough Police Department after reviewing surveillance video the event.
The Sugarcreek Borough Police Department conducted an investigation and were able to determine that three known juveniles were the actors who had been taking the items from the store and leaving without paying for the items. The officers learned that this had went on over the span of several weeks.
A summary non-traffic citation was issued to each of the three juveniles for the retail theft that had occurred.
