On February 4, 2021 at 10:47 pm Sugarcreek Borough Police were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with the report of the vehicle being into a house at 9 Shaffer Run Road.
Upon arrival Sugarcreek Borough Police noted that there was one female patient in the van with moderate injuries. The van had made contact with the guide rail and a stack of railroad ties before going airborne striking first an elevated porch and finally striking the house. There was heavy intrusion of the van into the houses basement. With heavy intrusion into the house, Oil City Fire Department was contacted to add bracing to the house.
The Red Cross was notified as the family was not able to stay due to major structural damage.
Due to the road conditions and emergency vehicles Shaffer Run Rd was shut down at 428 by Station 13 Oakland and at Shaffer Run Rd by Rocky Grove and Reno fire police.
Community Ambulance transported the driver to UPMC Seneca for treatment of her injuries.
Responding Agencies included Reno, Rocky Grove, and Oakland Volunteer Fire Departments, Oil City Fire Department, Community Ambulance Service.
Driver was cited for failure to drive her vehicle at a safe speed.
