On August 18, 2020 Sugarcreek Police officer was monitoring speed in the 1200 block of Allegheny Blvd.
Officer observed a vehicle that appeared to be travelling over the posted speed limit.
Officer initiated a traffic stop with the vehicle driven by Melissa Kaster, 33 of Oil City.
Kaster was given field sobriety testing in which she performed poorly on. Kaster was taken into custody for DUI.
The remaining occupants of the vehicle stated that they had dropped the occupant Melissa off at the Probation office where she was taken to jail. When asked they did not know Melissa’s last name.
During a search of the vehicle a stamp bag with methamphetamine was noticed in plain view. The purse was seized and a search warrant was obtained. Once the search was conducted other items were recovered from inside the purse.
Kaster will be charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of a Small Amount of Marijuana.
