Sugarcreek Borough Police responded for an assist to the Venango County Sheriff’s Office on June 16, 2020 at 4:48 PM.
Officers were first dispatched to assist with a traffic stop in the area of Allegheny Blvd and Goss Gas for a motorcycle with no registration plates visible.
A few moments later it was reported the vehicle had fled from the site of the stop and was now travelling north on Allegheny Blvd in the divided section.
Prior to Sugarcreek officers arriving in the area they were advised that the vehicle was now stopped just past the Petroleum Street Bridge near the YMCA.
The deputy who initiated the stop advised that the operator, later to be identified as Bernard Jarvis, 47 of Plymouth Michigan, became irate at the initial stop location and just drove away.
Sugarcreek officers then took Jarvis into custody and he was charged with fleeing or attempting to elude, drivers required to be licensed, minimum speed regulations, driving on roadways laned for travel and duty of driver upon approach of an emergency vehicle.
Jarvis was arraigned before Magistrate Kirtland and bail was set at $10,000 unsecured.
Central court has been scheduled for July 1, 2020.
