Sugarcreek Borough Officer was advised on April 6, 2020 at 8:20 AM by the victim that he had several guns stolen from his residence on Causeway Drive. The victim advised that his daughter had hired Judith Garich to clean out his residence to get it ready to be sold. The victim reported that Garich had 4 of the guns in her possession which she returned to his daughter. When asked about the other 4 guns that are still missing Garich stated she didn’t have them, she stated she had hired other people to help her clean out the trailer and if they reported the guns missing she would tell the police who she had with her.
At 9:20 AM officer interviewed Judith Garich, she advised that she had hired Richard Perrine III (Dicky) and he brought his wife with him, Jessica Perrine. Judith stated that when they were done cleaning for the day Richard Perrine and Jessica had dropped her off at home. Garich stated that she told her husband about the guns and thought they had better go get them and anything of value to secure it because the doors didn’t lock.
Garich stated she and her husband had taken some tools, swords, and four guns out of the house for safe keeping and that she turned them over to the victims daughter..
On April 6, 2020 at approximately 8:20 PM Officer spoke with Richard Perrine III and Jessica Perrine at their residence and advised them of the report.
Richard stated they were hired by Garich to help her clean out the trailer and they only helped her one one day for about an hour. He stated that Judy has the guns, he said she told him he could have some of them when they are done cleaning. Richard advised they went out again but the dumpster was too small for the job and they left. Richard stated he does have a blue shirt and an Army uniform that Garich said he could have.
Jessica Perrine stated she took cleaning supplies when they left.
Officer asked them to write out statements and bring them to the police station then next day.
On April 7, 2020 at approximately 2:00 PM officer interviewed Richard Perrine III and Jessica Perrine separately. Richard did admit that all three of them took the guns and didn’t want to say anything because he has a PFA against him and he didn’t want to get in trouble. Officer asked him to write out a truthful statement this time. Richard could hear his wife in the next room being loud and he asked me if I would go tell her that he just gave it up so she doesn’t dig herself in deeper.
After the interview officer went to the Perrine residence where Richard Perrine III then showed us in the garage under a lot of old clothes he had hidden the other 4 guns which officer recovered.
At 11:30 AM on April 8, 2020 both were arraigned in front of Magistrate Lowrey.
Richard Perrine III and Jessica Perrine, both of 412 Rocky Grove Ave, Franklin, were arraigned and both released on $25,000 straight bail each.
On April 9, 2020 at 9:30 AM Judith Garich of 507 Pacific Street, Franklin, was arraigned and also released on $25,000 straight bail.
