On Monday, April 1, 2024, Sugarcreek Borough Police Department responded to the call of a road rage incident with shots being fired.
Sugarcreek Borough Police were able to locate both vehicles and spoke with the drivers of both vehicles. It was determined that the driver of the green SUV had fired 1-2 rounds from his car in relation to the road rage.
John Wagner, 55 of Oil City, was taken into custody and charged with the following:
Aggravated Assault – Felony 1
Recklessly Endangering another Person – Misdemeanor 2
Simple Assault – Misdemeanor 2
Reckless Driving – Summary
John Wagner was arraigned before Magistrate Lowrey on April 1, 2024 and due to the seriousness of the charge was denied bail.
John Wagner’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 10, 2024 at 1:30 PM at the Venango County Courthouse.
