On August 17, 2023 the Sugarcreek Borough Police Department received a report from a mandatory reporter that Lucinda Irwin, 63 of Franklin, had failed to care for a known 83 year old elderly victim.
Through a course of investigation, it was discovered that the known elderly victim had an open wound that was not properly cared for leading to infection, living conditions were listed as deplorable and she was not receiving medication that she was prescribed, but being given others that she was not prescribed which resulted in the elderly victim being taken to the hospital under emergent conditions.
Lucinda Irwin was charged with the following:
Neglect of a Care Dependent Person – Felony 3
Neglect of a Care Dependent Person – Misdemeanor 2
Recklessly Endangering another Person – Misdemeanor 2
Charges were filed through Magistrate Kirtland’s office. On August 18, 2023 Lucinda Irwin was arraigned before Magistrate Kirtland. She was released on $15,000 unsecured bail.
