On June 30, 2023 a known victim contacted the Sugarcreek Borough Police Department and reported that their former spouse had sent threatening messages to them.
Steven Rider Jr., 42, was charged with the following:
Terroristic Threats – Misdemeanor 1
Simple Assault – Misdemeanor 2
Harassment – Misdemeanor 3
An arrest warrant was obtained and Steven Rider Jr. was taken into custody in Franklin without incident.
Steven Rider Jr. was arraigned before Magistrate Fish. Due to the charges filed against him and the previous occurrences with the known victim Steven Rider Jr. was denied bail and lodged into the Venango County Jail. His preliminary hearing is set for July 12, 2023 at 8:30 AM in the Venango County Courthouse.
