On April 20, 2023 a known victim stopped at the Sugarcreek Borough Police Department to report that Mark McBride, 32 of Franklin, had received money for a home improvement project and had failed to complete the job or return the money to the victim.
The victim also relayed that she had checked on the reasons Mark McBride had relayed to her on why the job had not been completed, and found them to be false. This lead the victim to contact police.
Officers conducted an investigation and noted that the home project was not completed and that the check for the work had in fact been cashed.
Mark McBride was charged with the following:
Home Improvement Fraud – Felony 3
Mark McBride was arraigned before Magistrate Lowrey and released on $5,000 unsecured bail.
Mark McBride’s preliminary hearing is set for May 17, 2023 at 8:30 AM at the Venango County Courthouse.
