DUI, Corruption of a Minor, Possession

On December 16, 2022 at approximately 2:52 PM Sugarcreek Borough Police were dispatched to Miller Sibley for the report of individuals destroying a camera. It was reported that they were in a red car that was now parked next to the Miller Sibley pool.

Upon arrival Sugarcreek Police officers made contact with the person in the vehicle. Items of drug paraphernalia were noted in plain view within the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, Gavin Carson, 22 of Stoneboro, was noted to have the odor of marijuana about his person as well as outward signs of impairment. Gavin Carson performed poorly on field sobriety testing and was taken into custody for DUI Drugs. The vehicle was impounded and a search warrant was obtained.

Sugarcreek Borough Police officers conducted a follow up investigation into the destruction of the camera. The video that was obtained showed that Gavin Carson and Gavin Bishop, 19 of Franklin, had been providing a known juvenile with marijuana, smoking it, passing it around between them.

Results returned from the Lab and showed that Gavin Carson had been operating a motor vehicle while impaired under the influence of a controlled substance.

Gavin Carson was charged with the following:
Corruption of a Minor – Misdemeanor 1
Driving Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance – Misdemeanor
Possession of a Controlled Substance – Misdemeanor
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Misdemeanor

Gavin Bishop was charged with the following:
Corruption of a Minor – Misdemeanor
