On November 14, 2022 at approximately 11:54 AM, Sugarcreek Borough Police Chief Wenner noted a green truck known to him to be operated by Lawrence Lux, 62 of Reno, to be operating in a careless and reckless manner.
Lawrence Lux was seen spinning tires along Route 8 (Allegheny Blvd.) and departing at a high rate of speed. Sugarcreek Borough Police officers were able to close on him and noted that he was operating his truck in an aggressive manner by speeding, following the vehicle in front of him too closely, and making multiple lane changes without signaling.
Upon initiating a traffic stop with Lawrence Lux he was noted to have the odor of an alcoholic beverage about his person. Lawrence Lux performed poorly on field sobriety testing and was summarily taken into custody for DUI.
Lab results showed that Lux had operated a motor vehicle with a BAC of 0.108.
The following charges were filed against Lawrence Lux through Magistrate Fish’s office:
Driving Under the Influence High Rate – Misdemeanor 1
And other summary traffic violations.
