Theft by Unlawful Taking (Auto & Money), Neglect of Care of Dependent Person

The Sugarcreek Borough Police Department was advised of several incidents involving Montice Robinson, 39, and Steven Bickel, 38, of Franklin.

A known elderly victim reported that Montice Robinson and Steven Bickel had been in the care of the known elderly victim. During the time that they were caring for her she was left alone for significant periods of time without the ability to care for herself. This resulted in the known elderly victim remaining in soiled clothing, not being fed, and open sores and skin problems with her body.

Montice Robinson and Steven Bickel also took her car and used it without being authorized. They had been expressly told no by the known elderly victim. They were also seen operating the vehicle after law enforcement had forced them to turn over the key to the known elderly victim’s car.

While in the apartment Montice Robinson and Steven Bickel are alleged to have orchestrated an effort to remove the known elderly victim’s purse from her presence. Once the purse had been removed $500.00 was then stolen from the known elderly victim. Montice Robinson and Steven Bickel also were alleged to have taken the $500.00 that the known elderly victim had set aside to do her laundry.

Montice Robinson and Steven Bickel were charged with the following:
Endangering the Welfare of a Care Dependent Person – Felony 3
Theft by Unlawful Taking (automobile) – Felony 3
Theft by Unlawful Taking (money) – Misdemeanor 1
Conspiracy – Felony 3
And other summary offenses.

Charged were filed through Magistrate Kirtland’s office and Felony arrest warrants were obtained for both Montice Robinson and Steven Bickel.

Officers attempted to serve the warrants on Robinson and Bickel, but were unable to locate them.
