It has been reported to the Sugarcreek Borough Police Department that persons have called residents claiming to be from a financial service and they are contacting citizens concerning a breech in their security. The caller is then directed to do various steps to assist in solving the breech.
Citizens are reminded the best course of action is to hang up and contact your financial institution at a number that you have previously used, an not any number provided by the caller on the phone. When in doubt hang up the phone, and never give any personal information over the phone to these unknown persons.
It is always better to be safe than to be sorry, as the saying goes. Unfortunately there are many people out there that want to steal you hard-earned savings.
