Sugarcreek Borough police investigated a report of rape that occurred in February 2021, where the defendant, Eric Sharpe, who is known to the victim’s family did rape the 14 year old victim.
The victim stated she had received an obscene photograph of the defendant. Sharpe did, during an interview, admit that he was there and committed several of the sexual act is with the victim who he knew was only 14 at the time.
A warrant was issued for Sharpe who was then arrested and arraigned on August 9, 2021 by Judge Lowery and placed in Venango County Jail, bail was denied. A parole detainer was issued for Sharpe from Clarion County from similar charges with them.
