Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana

On March 27, 2020 at 7:03 pm officer observed a cigarette being tossed out of the passenger side window from a vehicle with registration KPY2480.

Officer conducted a traffic stop and spoke with the female driver. Odor of marijuana was coming from the vehicle.

Driver was advised of the traffic stop and passenger admitted to throwing cigarette from the vehicle.

Officer then advised he could smell marijuana from the vehicle. Officer noticed rear passenger Jerry Brown grab his right front pants pocket. Brown pulled out a vape pen and stated he had it.

Officer got the driver out to be checked and Brown was observed by the officer reaching in his right front pants pocket and pulling out a small red bag with a zippered end, inside was a small amount of marijuana and a digital scale.

Officer had Brown get out of the vehicle and $160 in cash was also found in his right front pants pocket.

Front passenger and other rear passenger exited the vehicle and were checked.

The book bag that Brown was holding was checked. A plastic jar with approximately 33 grams of marijuana inside the jar was located.

Brown was charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver.

Jerry Brown was arraigned before Magistrate Fish and released on $30,000 unsecured bail.

Preliminary hearing is set for April 8, 2020.
