On June 21, 2021 Sugarcreek Borough Police were dispatched to a single vehicle accident at the intersection of Causeway Drive and Sugarcreek Drive.<\/p>\n
Upon arrival officers noted that the driver, Nico Duprea, 22 of Franklin, had already exited the vehicle. The vehicle had knocked down street signs and caused extensive damage to a guard rail. The result was the vehicle teetering over the embankment in an unstable manner. Officers spoke with Duprea and noted the odor of marijuana and outward signs of impairment.<\/p>\n
Field sobriety testing was conducted and Mr. Duprea was taken into custody for driving under the influence of drugs.<\/p>\n
While looking for the registration and insurance cards for the vehicle officers found a small plastic bag of marijuana.<\/p>\n
Blood results returned for NMS Labs showing that Nico Duprea had operated a motor vehicle while under the influence of marijuana.<\/p>\n
Nico Duprea was charged with the following:
\nDriving Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance – Misd.
\nPossession of Marijuana – Misd.
\nPossession of Drug Paraphernalia – Misd.
\nDriving Vehicle at Safe Speed – Sum.<\/p>\n
