{"id":1069,"date":"2024-04-02T10:57:16","date_gmt":"2024-04-02T14:57:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sugarcreekborough.us\/press\/?p=1069"},"modified":"2024-04-02T10:57:16","modified_gmt":"2024-04-02T14:57:16","slug":"paving-project-to-start-soon-in-venango-county","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sugarcreekborough.us\/press\/2024\/04\/02\/paving-project-to-start-soon-in-venango-county\/","title":{"rendered":"Paving Project to Start Soon in Venango County"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sugarcreekborough.us\/press\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/image004-1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-1070\" src=\"https:\/\/sugarcreekborough.us\/press\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/image004-1-274x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"274\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sugarcreekborough.us\/press\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/image004-1-274x300.png 274w, https:\/\/sugarcreekborough.us\/press\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/image004-1-768x840.png 768w, https:\/\/sugarcreekborough.us\/press\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/image004-1.png 859w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 274px) 100vw, 274px\" \/><\/a>A $3.9 million resurfacing project that will give motorists a smoother ride on more than seven miles of roadway in French Creek Township and Barkeyville Borough, Venango\u00a0<a name=\"_Hlk162856737\"><\/a>County is scheduled to start this week.<\/p>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\">Roads to be improved include:<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li class=\"v1MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst\">Georgetown Road (Route 3026) from the Mercer County line to the intersection with Route 62 in French Creek Township, 7.52 miles; and<\/li>\n<li class=\"v1MsoListParagraphCxSpLast\">Route 208 from the Mercer County line to the intersection with Route 8 in Barkeyville Borough, 1.19 miles.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\">Work will also include milling, repairs to the base layer of the roadway, paving, and drainage and guiderail upgrades.<\/p>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\">The project is expected to start April 2, weather permitting, and to be completed in October 2024.<\/p>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\">Motorists may encounter lane restrictions with traffic controlled by flaggers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\">Drivers should be alert for traffic pattern shifts and lane restrictions and anticipate travel delays during active work hours.<\/p>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\">The contractor is Shields Asphalt Paving, Inc., of Valencia, PA. The contract cost is $3,918,716.96, which is to be paid entirely with state funds.<\/p>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\">This year PennDOT\u2019s Northwest Region excepts to do work on more than 100 projects.
