While conducting aggressive driving enforcement in the area of Front Street in Rocky Grove on June 27, 2024, officers noticed a vehicle traveling west with a broken/burnt out taillight. A traffic stop was initiated, and the vehicle stopped in the area of Shuffstall Street.
Upon approaching the vehicle, officers were able to detect the odor of marijuana. When talking to the driver, identified as Orvis Davis, 45 of Polk, Orvis Davis showed outward signs of impairment. Mr. Orvis was asked to step out of the vehicle and submit to a series of standard field sobriety tests. Mr. Orvis showed multiple cues for impairment and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence.
Upon receipt of blood toxicology results, Mr. Davis was found to be operating the vehicle while under the influence of THC.
