On August 16, 2023 at approximately 2:20 PM Sugarcreek Borough Police noted a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed in a residential area that failed to stop at multiple stop signs. A traffic stop was initiated with the vehicle.
Upon speaking with the driver the officer noted multiple outward signs of impairment. Daniel Whitehill, 52 of Franklin, performed poorly with field sobriety testing and was taken into custody for the suspicion of driving under the influence.
Blood results from NMS Labs showed that Daniel Whitehill had been operating a vehicle with methamphetamine and amphetamine in his blood.

Driving Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance – Misdemeanor
Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) – Misdemeanor
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Misdemeanor
Other summary traffic offenses.
