On December 2, 2022 Sugarcreek Borough Police were monitoring traffic in the 2100 block of Allegheny Blvd. The officer noted a tan colored Equinox travelling south that appeared to be travelling above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was timed and noted to be travelling at 65 mph in a posted and maintained 45 mph zone.
While closing on the vehicle other traffic violations were noted. A traffic stop was initiated with the vehicle. Upon contact the officer noted multiple outward signs of impairment as well as the strong odor of burnt marijuana.
The driver, Daphne Brennan, 31 of Oil City, consented to sobriety testing. Ms. Brennan performed poorly on field sobriety testing and was summarily taken into custody for DUI. Blood sample was taken from Ms. Brennan for testing.
The lab results returned for Ms. Brennan showing that she had operated a motor vehicle while under the influence of marijuana and multiple other substances.

Driving Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance Schedule 1- Misdemeanor
Driving Under the Influence of Combination of Drugs – Misdemeanor
Possession of a Controlled Substance – Misdemeanor
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Misdemeanor
Speeding and other Traffic Violations – Summary (2 counts)
Charges were filed through Magistrate Fish’s office.
