On December 30, 2022 the Sugarcreek Borough Police Department received a report that 53 year old Timothy Pavlin, a resident at the Sugar Valley Lodge has been trying to gain entry to the medicine room. According to staff members, Timothy Pavlin used a pair of scissors to try and get inside the room. Pavlins intent was to steal medication and money. This incident occurred at approximately 11:59 PM on December 29, 2022.
On January 2, 2023 Officers from Sugarcreek Borough followed up on the investigation. Staff members reported that Timothy Pavlin was trying to gain access to other residence rooms on January 1, 2023 at approximately 6:00 PM.
Officers spoke briefly with Timothy Pavlin then placed him in handcuff’s advising him he was under arrest for attempted burglary, attempted criminal trespass, attempted theft and instruments of a crime, all without incident.
Timothy Pavlin was arraigned in front of Magistrate Lowrey and was placed into the Venango County Jail and is awaiting his preliminary hearing which is scheduled for January 11, 2023 at 8:30 AM.
Pavlin was charged with the following:
Attempted Burglary – Felony 1 (2 counts)
Attempted Burglary – Felony 1 (1 count)
Attempted Criminal Trespass – Felony 2 (1 count)
Instruments of a Crime – Misdemeanor (1 count)
Attempted Theft – Misdemeanor (1 count)
