On October 31, 2020, Sugarcreek Borough Police were contacted by Franklin Police Department advising of a posible DUI that just parked at the Sheetz on Allegheny Blvd. Franklin Police Department provided a description of the vehicle and the license plate number.
Upon arrival officers identified the vehicle and made contact with the driver, Patrick Sloan, 30 of Parker PA.
While speaking with Sloan the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was noted from the vehicle. Officers had Sloan step from the vehicle to separate him from the passengers who had been drinking. When the continued odor of an alcoholic beverage continued about his person Sloan admitted to consuming alcohol despite being the designated driver.
Sloan performed poorly on the field sobriety testing and was taken to UPMC Northwest for a chemical test of blood.
The blood results returned from NMS Labs showing the Patrick Sloan had operated a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
Charges were filed through Magistrate Lowrey’s office.
